Hop On To Rapid Penang

Yesterday, I went to sit the new bus in town – the Rapid Penang. I was very excited because my hometown get upgrades on the public transport.

Everytime I go Singapore, I see their public transport so good, I jealous. Then my own hometown public transport is like kanasai shit.

Now got new buses, all air-conditioned bus, and covered many route that the old bus company don’t.

The Rapid Penang launched 2 days ago and were free of charge for today, yesterday, and on the launch day. This 3 days, the other bus company sure curse Rapid Penang (Who call you don’t upgrade your service to fight Rapid Penang?)

Because of FOC, I take a ride home from my tuition place, near near only. Try for fun lo, since it’s new.

They claim that their driver will be friendly, indeed they are friendly. I hopped on one bus, then ask the bus driver got go to my place or not, he smile to me and ask me to take the other bus which got pass my place, he didn’t say : You want sit or not? Don’t want please get off.

I waited like 5-10 minutes, the bus is here.

They have a board showing where will the bus go. Many people still confuse about the route, I know a little, but not all as I had study the map. Not sure about the fare, but I think is RM1-1.50. When I am wearing school uniform will be half price.

No steps when getting in the bus. It’s flat. Nice! But the the seats are little. In front is more on standing while seats is at the back of the bus and it get higher and higher as there have 3 set of steps.

Bus is sweet with the cool air-condition, last time I take bus home no air-con one. This one have, and no tinted window and curtains, this make the bus look brighter and prettier while Transit Link do have and it makes it look dirty inside.

There is digital clock inside the bus so people who don’t have watch like me can get to know the time.

3 seats are reserved for elders and disabled. But sometimes I think nobody cares, they will just sit or else, everyone standing, while 3 empty seats there.

The bell is not “beep” sound but is “Bing Bong”. =D

This is the old bus that last time I took home. That day, I can see the bus was empty as who want to pay since there is free ride in air-conditioned bus. Haha.

I want :

1. Cheaper bus fare. We as student must always get discount and not just when wearing school uniform. Like we can have a special student cards.
2. I want touch and go system like the Singapore, no need to dig for coin and notes, just scan and then when alight scan again, the machine will know how far you have traveled and charge according it.
3. A bus stop/stand that looks cleaner. A lot of bus stand/stop here look ugly, dirty and have been vandalised.
4. You stupid people stop vandalize the bus and keep it clean.
5. You old bus company upgrade and fight with Rapid Penang.

“Take Rapid Penang, save your petrol money.” – Nicholas Chan
